It wjuld be unjust lo pass without making complimentary notice of the rendition of orchestral pieces which showed considerable preparation and good taste. The auction sale during the per turmance will net $130 75, when all those who bid have paid. It is not ften that dnnors bnv and rehnv Ihpir own goods, but Messrs. Auer & 'Murphy did last evening. The bid ding was not so liberal as on the preceding pre-ceding performance, but there is little reason tor complaint. There were qui to a number of donors. The receipt for tbe house were somewhere about $450, which, considering the low prices of admission, is a large amount. Altogether, the performance perform-ance was a decided success. |
