Show New York ia having another sensation sen-sation growing out of a tragic love affair. Julia Schofield, the daughter of a Connecticut farmer, waa engaged to marry Hickaon Piatt, of Mount Kiaco, New York. The father of the girl opposed the marriage, and wanted her to wed a wealthy farmer. A family fam-ily quarrel ensued, and Piatt, to protect pro-tect his affianced from parental abuse, took her home with him. After she had been there a week Piatt's father told him he muat take her away. Julia heard tbe decree, and securing her lover's piatol, went into the woodR and fatally shot herself in the breast.
