They believod that there had been "shown altogether too much leniency to es-rcbels, and that the slave-holding power was still struggling struggl-ing for supremacy. They called upon the President to take prompt measures for the suppression of the present state of a flairs and if he had not power to do that, to convene an extra session of Congress. Resolutions expressive of these sentiments were adopted. |
