Show FOREIGN. The; Debts ot the Prinee ol Wales. Loudon, 1. The Times this morning morn-ing in a leading article contradicts .the statement recently current that th Queen has paid the debts of the ! Prince of Wales. At the present time, says the writer, the debts of the Prince amount to little more than one-third of the amount of his income, in-come, and include bcarcely any bills due longer than one year. The Prince's balances at his banker's today to-day will more than Butfico to meet nvery claim. It is true that the Prince is unable to live within hiB income, but tho excess is provided for from a fuud which is his private property. pro-perty. This fund, which accumulated accumulat-ed during the Prince's minority from tbe revenues of the Duchy of Cornwall, Corn-wall, is still sufficient to meet the yearly deficit in his expenses, though the time may come when this re-1 re-1 source will bo exhausted. |
