Show General Shebsiah having been asked to furnish a better portrait of Mr, Fitch, his daughter's nances, than the one we already possessed, replied, "Oh! if you don't get it in time, buy a picture of any young naval officer in uniform, and stick Fitch's head on him. That will do for Fitch." The reply being made that the Daily Graphic never published pub-lished anything but genuine pictures, the General answered, "Oh! it does; does it? Well, the rest of the illustrated illus-trated papers don't take that trouble. I have ridden General Washington's horse twenty times in pictures, and so have Grant, tihertdan, and the rest. They keep Gen. Washington's horse on hand( and stick a head of any of us on it when conTenient." New York Daily Graphic, |
