Show The Equestrienne Match-We Match-We are pleased to notice that the suggestion thrown oufby the Herald last week, concerning an equestrienne match at Agricultural Park, on the occasion of the Stock f'lir, has interested inter-ested several of the city merchants, who are oflering premiums to the lady who is adjudged to be the moat expert horsewoman. The popular jewelers, Messrs. Joslin & Park, offer as a premium, a beautiful card basket, (silver), and two cups, which are on exhibition in their show window; Dunford &. Sona offer two of the finest bats in the city, which can be seen at their store; Mr. James Dwyer will give the fair winner an elegant work box, nicely furnished; Mr. C. R. Savage will give a handsome prize in the shape of a nnu picture in frame, and Mr. Henry Diuwoodey, and others have intimated that they would do something handsome in the way of presenting suitable premiums. The match is now a settled tact, hence the ladies should ascertain who will probably be" the judges and then cultivate cul-tivate them. |
