Show Theatre. Last night "Marble Heart" was capitally played and admirably mounted, moun-ted, the only exception to the smoothness smooth-ness of the performance being a general gen-eral torgetfulness in the lesser characters char-acters of the lines towards the close of the fourth act, injuring the climax between Raphael and Marco. Mr. MeCullough's Volage, Miss Graham's Marco, and Mr. Sawtclle's Raphael, were fine impersonations, and were deservedly enthusiastically applauded. applaud-ed. This evening Mr. John McCullough will be the recipient of a grand complimentary com-plimentary benefit tendered him by Heading citizens. He presents Sheridan Sheri-dan Knowles' great tragedy, of " Vir-g'mius," Vir-g'mius," himself appearing in the title role, with Miss Annie Graham as Virginia." In the performance of this tragedy we look for a genuine histrionic and elocutionary treat. The cast is a strong one, and includes Miss Jean Clara Walters as Servia, Mr. Vinson as Dcntatus, with Messrs. Sawtelle, Lindsay, Crosbie, Tborne, Rea, Archer, Forster and others. The houses see m to have increased in-creased from the commencement of Mr. MeCullough's engagement, and to-night we expect a most crowded and fashionable audience. Get your tickets early. |
