Show INDIAN MiTTSES SOOTH. Some months a;o the llnitu.p oflered a few strictures on the doings of Indian agent Ingalls, which gave that gentleman much offence, and drew forth comments from some of our friends iu the southern portion ol the Territory, defending Ingalls. Since then very flattering pictures of Indian aflairs iu that region have been presented in Washington, and lf we are to credit what has bixn reported re-ported from the Federal capital, the Ingalls brothers and Major Powell are the three great benefactors of the Indian In-dian race and of southeastern Nevada and Southern Utah. But, somehow, a majority of the people in that region do not seem to be yet fully convinced that such is the case. They lack that implicit confidence in the Ingalls brothers which one would wish to sco entertained towards gentlemen claiming to be laboring solely for the public good; and we find that the feeling towards the Ingalls In-galls has taken definite siia; e, as will ue seen oy me louowmg iroiii uic Pioche Record of the 30th ult.: The gerernl disati?f:t lion with tl-r Xn-pnll-i brothers in ci.;inirt'i':i vi;!i lmli.m at'iurs in Soutrn;rn I'lah :i:nj ii-i'iul:i h;i-lakeri h;i-lakeri .-iiL'h plmt() iu- iu )ih1u-- uur cili;:u:? to rn:ik ft diruct iipivnl to tin- unlliur U- nt Wtifh'.nglon fur ndrc.-i.
