The London accountants' account-ants' report of the condition of the Erio road, was read today in the Stock Exchange. It says in three years the profits of the road were $1,900,000 instead of $o,500,000 as stated in tho company's accounts, and even this account is subject to various deductions. The report shows the loss on working the Atlantic & Great Western railroad up to September 1S71, and the divi lends in 71-2 3 were $3,250,000. Dividends on rpreferrcd Btock were fairly earned and much more. An examination must be made before the financial condition of the com-' pany is fully known. The accountants account-ants express themselves highly satisfied satis-fied with the facilities afiorded them for the prosecution oi the investigation investiga-tion in New York. There are many important appendices appen-dices to the report which were not read, and which will not be published until the issue of Captain Tyler's re port, which they will accompany. The report says but tor a deficit of $450,000 shown by the corrected profit and loss account, as existing in September, 3871, $270,000 would have been available, subject to the adjustment of outside matter and for dividends on the common stock after the payment of four dividends on preferred pre-ferred stock for the year ending June SOth, 1S73. An abstract statement of the assets and liabilities of the company com-pany up to September 30th, 1S72, Bhows: Liabilities, $115,000,000, and asseU $118,000,000. A circular has bAen Bent to the shareholders of the Direct Cable company, informing them that the management have decided to abandon aban-don about thirty miles of cable which !are now lying on a rocky bottom, and effect a splice at a more suitable point.
