Show "Twa Honrs at Hame." The "twa hours" at the Institute were spent very pleasantly last nighU The Kennedy family were certainly at home, and so seemed all who visited them. The songs were rendered in fino style, and the history his-tory ot each song gave a double interest in-terest to the entertainment. To all who love the gnid auld Scottish sanga and who ol any taste does not? this entertainment was a rare treat, and one fully appreciated by the intellectual audience. The family seemed in good voice, and showed fine taste throughout the whole "twa hours. ' ' Each sang well. The young ladies, with well-trained voices, did full justice to the sentiments of the poets selected. Miss Marjory hae a lull, rich alto voice, and was heartily heart-ily applauded. Misa Helen displayed a clear, strong soprano voice, and drew down the house. Mr. Kennedy was the life of the entertainment, and waa ably supported by Mr. David and Mr. James. Several KnglUb glcea were introduced; and rendered by the whole family in excellent style, and each piece waa loudly encored. 1 ho performers showed that they were equally good in English and Irish Bong as well as Scotch. The audience was select and highly appreciative, but we cerUinly wore didappoinUxl in not seeing the Itome crowded. We fully expect, however, those fond of Scottish song will avail themselves of this rare opportunity to enjoy themselves. |
