Show Gen. Sliorltluu in F'riNCo. San Francisco, 23. A procession escorting Gen. Sheridan, is now marching up Kearney street. The general arrived at 9 o'clock p.m., and was met at the wharf by the mayor and a deputation of citizens, the second brigade N. G. C, and a detachment of the U. S. 4th artillery, which fired a salute of fifteen guns. The procession is now on the way to the Grand hotel, in front of which the military will be reviewed, and the board of supervisors will receive the general and extend the freedom of the city. The strctt3 are crowded, and the demonstration cordial and imposing. |
