Sec. 1. Sec. 'Z. Applications' for license, under the provisions of this ordinance, shall be made to tho Mayor in writ inp, and licenses shall be issued and signed by the Mayor or presiding olli-oer olli-oer of the City Council, and attested by the City Recorder, under tho corporate cor-porate seal, on the payment into the City Treasury, of the sum of twenty-five twenty-five dollars per annum, in advance. Sec. S. All persons licensed as butchers shall keep a book in which they shall record a faithful description of the age, size and color of all animals ani-mals by them killtd. with the brnds and earmarks thereon, together wiih j the name of the person from whom received and the time when killed; which book shall be open to the inspection in-spection of the public. Sec. 4. All persons encaged" in tho business of butchering within the limits of this city are hereby required 10 thoroughly cleanse their slaughterhouses slaughter-houses and yards, once each twenty-four twenty-four hours, and to remove from tu-ir premises and desposit all oll'.d in such manner, and at such place or places, as may be designated by the City Marshal, or his deputy. Sec. 5. It shM! be the duty of the City Marshal or his deputy (as often as may be deemed necessary) to vL-it the slaughterhouses within the limits of this city, tocxiimine tne books and ice that a fiithful record is made of all animals killed, and tnat the slaughterhouses uro thoroughly cleansed, ns provide in section four of this ordinance. Sec. G. Any person viola ting the provisions ot this ordinance shall be liable to a fine in any sum not less thun five, nor more than one hundred hun-dred dollars, and on a second conviction convic-tion in addition thereto, his license may be declared forieited.
