Show The Southern Mines. Mr. G. A. Robinson has just returned re-turned from a tour through some of the southern mining districts Star, San Francisco and Preuss in each of which he visited a number of mines, and brings a good report back with him. The new smelter at Shaunty Springs is .running successfully success-fully on ore from tho company's mine in Preuss, the Mountain Queen. Twenty men aro taking out thirty tons of ore daily. A short time since, in a run of thirteen days , with three tuyeres 90 tons of bullion were run out, and in the twenty-four hours preceding Mr. R's departure, with six tuyeres, twelve tons of ore were run out. The Mountain Queen ore works easily, requiring nothing for fluxes. The road between this city and Sevier Se-vier river is unusually muddy, and lined with teams hauling bullion. A railroad to Star is what the people hanker after now. When the road is built they expect Star will be the "banner" district of Utah. |
