Show THE TEXAS PACIFIC. Chicago, 3. A Washington special spe-cial savs Col. Thomas A. Scott was recently addressed on the subject of afiairs of the Texas Pacific railway by the citizens of San Diego through their agents in this city. The people of San Diego were alarmed lest an extension ex-tension of time should be asked for the completion of the work now in progress at the Pacific terminus. They were also anxious to learn of the prospeet of legislation by Congress in the interest ol the company. Col. It is understood that no definite form of action has yet been agreed upon; but a number of bills are in course of preparation to bo submitted to him for approval, the main object in the east being to provide means to obtain government aid in disposing of railroad bonds, and to secure government govern-ment for all disbursements. It is au-thoratively au-thoratively stated that the Northern Pacific iins agreed to leave the field to the Southern PaciOc.at least, for the present season. |
