The bill was read as amended; the amendments were concurred con-curred in, and the bill so passed. A communication was received from tlie House announcing that they had passed (C. F. No. 17) with tlie, title amended to read "An Act further fur-ther defining the duties of Sheriff and amending an act in relation to Marshals Mar-shals and Attorneys," approved March irtl. 1852. The bill was read as amended and laid on the table till called lor. Mr. Young presented petition of Win. A. Mr. Taylor, chairman of the committee com-mittee on Education, to whom was referred the petition of B. G. "Ray-bould "Ray-bould and 252 others, praying for the passage of a school law, and accompanied accom-panied by a bill for such an act, reported re-ported that the committee had examined ex-amined said bill and found it impractical im-practical for the present condition of the Territory: and asked to - be discharged dis-charged from any further consideration considera-tion of the subject. Report adopted and committee discharged. Mr. W. R. Smith presented a petition pe-tition from John Stoker and J49 . others, praying lor the passage of a 1 law to prevent fires from locomotives. A bill for "An Act amending an act to provide for mechanics' and laborers' la-borers' liens," approved Feb. 18th, ' 1809, which was made the special o-ider for to-day, was taken up on its second reading. On motion df Mr. Rowberry, the enacting clause was stricken off., 1 he motion of Mr. W. G. Smith, asking that the boundary line between be-tween Weber and Morgan counties be more clearly established, and that the expenses thereof be paid by the counties coun-ties asking ihe more definite location of county boundary lines, was read and the subject matter referred to the Committee on Counties House adjourned till 2 p. m. on Tuesday, |
