The funeral of Ralston to-day was the most imposing impos-ing obsequies ever witnessed in tho city. The services were conducted at Calvary church, which was crowded to its utmost capacity. It was decorated decor-ated with flowers and funeral wreaths. A concourse of citizen numbering probably 20,000, gathered around the church. After the services, the procession, pro-cession, consisting of a battalion of cavalry, three regiments of infantry, a battery of artillery. The hearse was followed by the clerks of the Bank of Cilifornia, the regents and faculty of the university, univer-sity, members of the Chamber of Commerce, the San Francisco Stock Exchange, Pacific Stock Exchange, members and friends of the family in carriages, officers aud employes of the manufacturing concerns in which the deceased had been interested, and a concourse of citizens, number- , ing thousands, brought up the rear. The services at tho cemetery were conducted according to the rites ol the Odd Fellows. Tho Btreets on the route of the procession were lined with people. There was a great gathering at the cemetery, Business Busi-ness was to a great exten t suspended during the funeral. |
