Show ' The President and cabinet appear to be in a muddle over the Louisiana question, with which they really have nothing more to do than the British ministry. There is nothing before the White House. The people of the State have placed their lawful government gov-ernment in pesition, and if the federal fed-eral officers at all interfere with the manipulation of popular sovereignty, they will assume the rUks and responsibilities res-ponsibilities of whatever difficulty may occur. The people are long suffering but there may be a limit to their patience. Better let well enough alone. |
