Show City Council. Meeting of the City Council, Tuesday Tues-day evening, Mayor Wells, presiding. Petition of W. H. Hooper and others asking that the right granted to A. M, Cannon and others to put their weigh scales on Second West street be revoked, or the location of the scales be c hanged; referred to the committee on streets and alleys. Petition, of W. C. Staine3, and ninety-two others, asking that a grade be established on South Temple street, from First to Sixth East, and that the street be improved for driving purposes; referred to the committee on streets and alleys, with instruc tions to act in the matter. Petition of J. E. Haslem and Elizabeth Eliza-beth Smith, asking that the water linued north to Pugsley's mill race,! was referred to the committee on streets and alleys. The committee to whom was referred refer-red the petitiou of the Sierra Nevada Lumber Association and others asking ask-ing that Third We?t street, between South Temple and First South streets be repaired, reported and recommended recom-mended that the prayer of the petition be granted. Report adopted. The supervisor was instructed to put two wooden walks across the sLieeis iii, tue mierseuiiuu oi ouutn and East Temple streets. The committee on Municipal laws reported a bill for au ordinance relating re-lating to butchering and slaughter houses. The bill was passed and became be-came a law. The committee ou improvements presented bills for articles purchased tor hithlinngaimprorciubut, A.U1UU111 $314.35 was appropriated. Bill of W. Hyde for boarding city prisoners during the month of October Octo-ber 2,249 meals at lo cents, $337.35 was allowed. Bill of D. H.
