Show "Foul Birds." Bell Kimball testified yesterday before be-fore the House Committee on Elections, Elec-tions, as the telegraph informs us, on Mr. Cannon's wedding and fishing arrangements. We congratulate I Merritt, -Maxwell and Cary on the strength of the testimony. It is as- ! tonishingly sweeping. If they will only send over to State street, Chicago, Chica-go, they can find another witness Irorn whom if evidence can be extracted, extrac-ted, it will be 'surprising how quick some of these gentlemen will have business away from Washington. The above appeared in Tuesday's Herald, and some of the "foul birds" around, whose nasal organs are so accustomed ac-customed to filth that the nose it everywhere, have been assuming that State street, Chicago, is a disreputable disreputa-ble part of that city, thereby displaying display-ing their ignorance. Wc are willing to furnish sensible reading for them if they desire it, but cannot agree to supply the requisite brains which nature na-ture has denied them. The "witness" referred to is a man; his location on State street is not far from tho magnificent retail establishment ef Field, Lciter it Co., in one of the most palatial parts of the "Gardon City"; and if he could be got to tell publicly what he knows about "doing business without license," somo ol the "ring" quartette would suddenly find the)' hod business away from the Federal capital. Do the "ring's" humble harpies desire any more concerning con-cerning the matter'.' |
