Everything went along smoothly until un-til he reachiil the edge of town, when, by some mishap, or carelessness, he upset the load, and singular to relate, the child was under nearly tho entire hay. Those who saw the accident rushed to the rescue of the little innocent. in-nocent. One party, in his excitement, excite-ment, came near doing the child a serious injury. He was using a two-tiued two-tiued fork to throw olV the hay and caught the Htttc thing's leg between the tines, and if the youngster had not screamed out, its leg might have lccn j broken. The child was taken up : uninjured, to the great joy of its ' father. |
