It is announced : that in his will Edwin Forrest leaves his entire property, even his wardrobe and valuables of all kinds, to be ued for the foundation of a home for disabled dis-abled dramatio artists. Sixty acres of i ground within tho limits of Philadelphia Philadel-phia have been made over to the corporation of that city, for the purpose pur-pose Bet forth, and in aAer years those members of the dramatic profession whose lives have not been crowned with successful gains, may enjoy the oomforts of a beautiful home surrounded surround-ed by reminders of their art. Forrest said to a friend less than a month ago, that this had been the main object ol his life for thirty-five years, and that he had made ample provision for car- I rying it out. It was his desire that ihe endowment should bo so legally perfect that there could bo no trouble arise in the courL" about the title; further, he said, he wished his bequest to bo so clearly understood that no ono could doubt his motive. |
