Show The KelHcy Mystery. New York, S.At the inquest on the lxxly of Xelsey, who was tarred and feathered at Oyster Bay for writing writ-ing obscene letters to a young lady, and whose body was afterward claimed to have been found in the hay, a watch chain and comb found on the corpse were positively identified identi-fied as belonging to the deceased, Drs. Van Sandt and Corry both testified tes-tified to examining the body which they thought had been subject to such violence that death must have resulted resul-ted within six hours. The defense is understood to rely chiefly on the testimony tes-timony of a woman of good character, who swears she saw Kelscy, several weeks after the outrage on a train, and conversed with him: second, that the mutilated body had been found in the water and claimed by Kelsey's friends to be Kelsey's in order to prosecute successfully. The inquest will be continued on Thursday. Kelsey's Kel-sey's supposed remains will be buried Friday. |
