Show (By W.U. Tolograph.) THE BOWLES BRO'S TRIAL. London, 5. In the trial of Kobert Bowles to day be was acquitted. The counsel for tho prosecution in his opening speech said it was impossible to doubt the guilty foreknowledge of the defendant of the manner in which ihe firm had disposed of tho bonds of M. fUgiot, tho prosecutor, amounting to $S,SuO and of the securities of Mrs. T. D. Yates and Mrs. Gardner, in value ovor $50,000. But few witnesses were examioed. Adooa them were Kagiot, and Mrs. Yates. The deputy recorder in summing up Bhowed that other members of the firm were responsible res-ponsible for the securities deposited. |
