The committee rufused to allow Clark to make an argument. There is the probabi.iiy of a mnjority and a minority report. M or tan will make the former and Carpenter tho latter. It is believed that the majority report I will be adverse and that the committee will stand three to four. Since a two-third two-third vote will be necessary to expel, r Caldwell's lawyers are very confident t that he will rctcin his seat even if the r report is adverse. f |
