Show TIIK nHHOflllATlO CONVKNTIOX. Pursuant to i-ill, a rt-.pentablc nutu-bor nutu-bor of Democrats assembled at tho oily hall at 2 o'clock p.m., yesterday. The meeting was called to order by U. D. Johnson, Kq., and Col Thos. P. Akers was elected chairman, with John McUonigle and M. R. Mayor secretaries. secre-taries. A committee of seven, com-priing com-priing H. L. Johnson, J. Stevens, A. Hujran, E. K. McCarthy, 3. P. Mo Curdy, H. M. McCalliater and R. W. Pago, was appointed to select nineteen I nnnit'3 as delegates to (he Territorial ' convention, which is to meet in this city next Saturday, to elect two delo ! gates to tho Baltimore convention; and the foltowing gentlemen were appointed appoint-ed such delegates: T. P. Akers, Henry Barnrs. S. P.McCurdy, W.H. Folsooi, K. K. Young, M. Kirkpatrick, W. C. Duubar, h, K. It iter, J. Stevens, W. B. Smith, E M. Barnum, J. P. Page, A. Miner, D. It. Allen, M. Mayer, E. D. HogL L. S. Hills, S. Bringhurst and llosea Stout, During the absence of the committee speeches were mado byjudges Blair, Lovcll. Miner, Hoge, general Barnum and others, all avowing a determination to stand by the Democratic colors while- there is a shot in the locker. The meeting passed a resolutions of thanks to the city authorities for the use of the hall, and adjourned sine die. |
