Show THE LADY BOBEIIEAD AND EL-MKB EL-MKB MINE. Io our issue of Apiil 19th, 173, we made reference to the decision of the commisflioner of the general land office with rcferenco to the Lady Morehead mine, io Little Cottonwood district, Utah. The title of the case ia A. G. Paddock vs. J. P. Taggart. We stated that Paddock's adverse claim to the mine as a continuation of the Elmer lode was rejected by the commissioner com-missioner od the ground that do fur vey had been made of the Elmer lode within the sixty days required by law. This week we received a letter from Mr. A. Q. Paddock asking us to make the statement that tho above men tiooed survey was mado within tho limits of tho prescribed sixty day 8. Mr. Paddock sava : "The parties ap plying fur a patent on the Lady More-head More-head mine advertised December 5th, 1872. The survey of the Elmer mine was oomplcted January 25th, 1873, and tho protest filed on the 31st of the sauio month. The survey was made by Thomas Davios, assistant United States mineral land surveyor. The only possible ground for the rejection of my claim lay in the faot that the surveyor ocpleoted to tile his field notes and make affidavit with regard to the amount of work done oq tho Elmer mine."
