Show The Second trial of Laura D. Fair for the killing of Crittenden, is now in progress, jot is exciting hut little interest in-terest compared with that which attended the first trial. As is usually tho case in second trials for murder, there ii a struDg probability pro-bability that she will escape the extreme ex-treme penalty of the law; and as prurient public curiosity was gratified in the publication of the amo:ou.i epistles which passed between her and Crittenden, there is not the samo reason for the sensational newspapers to attempt working up aa interest. |
