Show A t'oUurdlj Vtliu k. A most dastardly act of violence was perpetrated on Mr. John Sned-aker, Sned-aker, of Mill Creek waul, yesterday, by John Leonard of this city. Mr.' Snedaker was riding down the 8tale Road in a light wagon, filled with milk, cans, wh-'ii Leunard asked to ride. Mr. S. tuld him there was no rami in the wagon, whereupon Leonard Leo-nard deliberately commenced hiking out the milk cans. The gentleman remonstrated with him, and stopped his horse a wild colt that he dared not leave unfastened when Leonard picked, up a rock with which he struck Mr. S. a severe blow on the head, inflicting a dangerous wound. The assailant then struck the gentleman gentle-man on the cheek, cutting a deep gash. Some other parties coming up at this time arrested young Leonard, brought him to this city,, and turned him over to the police. He will be tried to-day, before Justice Clinton, when he should be learned a lesson aljout the rights of man, that would last him his life time. |
