Show Extension of the U. N. R. R. to Cobinne, Tho following from the Corinne Reporter tells the result of tbe conference between tho officers of the Utah Northern and tha oommitteo appointed ap-pointed on tho part of tho citizens of Corinno : It is at last our pleasant duty to announce an-nounce that complete negotiations have been effected between the directors of the Utah Northern railroad and the people of this city, for the immediate construction of an arm of that road from a point near Brigham oity into (Jorione. Tbe preliminaries have been mutually agreed upon, aod now only the form of transfer of depot grounds, right of way, and delivery of the stipulated stip-ulated bonus to tho Utah Northern ara to bo effected before the important work begins. These pointn have all bocn adjusted in a friendly Bpirit, and the attorneys of the road are preparing tho necessary documents docu-ments to place the entire sub-jeot sub-jeot in permanent shape. Our citizens have every reason to be pleased with the action of their committee in discharging dis-charging the responsibility imposed upon it. Nothing could have been more satisfactory. On the other aide it is gratifying in tho highcMt degree to note the fairnejs, candor and urbanity with which our representatives were met by the officers of the road. President Pre-sident John W. Young, secretary Thatcher and directors Smith and Merrill, snenkine and acting by author ity of their company, havo not only succeeded in the business they came to do, but also mado an impression on the minus of all wit h whom they came in contact, which wc trust is to bo the eignal of prosperity to the enterprise so favorably inaugurated. Wo welcome the Utah Northern to our city, and wish its firm rails a heavy train of successes. With a terminus at Ogden, another at Corinno, and Bpccding onward toward to-ward Montana, where its advent is anxiously awai;cd, the Utah Northern has bright proppecto before it. |
