Show I By W. U.Ttlcsraph BLAST ON DUSCAM'3 CARD. Chicago, 14. The "Times," this a. m. publishes the following card: Louisville, Aug. 14. Tho Chicago "Tribune" uttered a most infamous and utterly unfounded libel upon me for which I have ordered a suit to be instantly instituted for $100 000 dama- ges. As that libel will doubtless bo re-; re-; peatcd by other unscrupulous joiirnals. ! I ask tho favor of your readers in vari-' vari-' ous localities to send mo copies of suoh i papers so that I may institute suits ! against them also and teach them that : there aro some men who will put thorn . in peril of paying dearly for tho inox-! inox-! cusable license claimed by such men, of libelling grossly those who daro io ! differ with them and call their souls j their own. My political actions arc ! subjects for comment If tho editor had been wiser it would have immediately immedi-ately struck his mind that a man guilty of such conduct as be charges me with would long since havo been attacked in the southern papers aud exposed by the local journals whero I reside He has now the high privilege of proving his assertions or of paying lor thorn. Very respectfully, Blaston Duncan. |
