Show By W. U. Telegraph-) CHICAGO Bf I'RDES, Chicago, 24. Last night, about midnight, James P. MoWill lams, a young man employed as oompositor in the "Times" office, was Bhot through the head and almost instantly killed by one of a party of four men whom he met on Clinton street, near Adams. Mc Williams, with a companion, was going hoars -when his attention was attracted to some altercation between tho four men, and he stopped and asked what was the matter. One of the men told him to pass on, whioh he did without a word, but he only got a few steps when one of the wen drew a rcvoker and shot him. The aasasiin and his companions escaped, and are still at large. |
