The live people of Lwiston, Camp Floyd, nuu paving heed to the fact that Independence Day celebrations were squelched in this Territory by acting proclamations, etc. , have resolved to celebrate in the usual style, and forward for-ward us tho following initiatory proceedings pro-ceedings : Lewiston, June 27th, 1S72. Editors Herald: The following proceedings towards celebrating the coming Fourth were had at Stott & Co's saloon, in Lewis-ton, Lewis-ton, on last evening. The meoting was called to order and organized by chosing W. R, Usher to tho chair, and O. D. Vajen secretary. The object of tho meeting was stated in appropriate speeches by the chair, captain Shaw and others, captain Wilder Wil-der beiog called for, who heartily endorsed en-dorsed the object of the meeting. On motion, the chair appointed the following follow-ing committees: On Arrangement : L. Cuddebeck, captain E. B. Wilder and E. Stott. On Finance: J. W. Smith, Con Hobbs and E. R. Kertley. On Invitation: L Morris, B. F. Shaw and M. Lockwood. On motion tho secretary was requested re-quested to forward to the Salt Lake city papers copies of these proceedings. proceed-ings. The meeting then adjourned till tomorrow to-morrow evening, at 8 o'clock, at the same place, for the committees to report re-port progress. VV. R. Usher, Chairman; C. D. Vajen, Secretary.
