Show Camp Meeting. Yesterday the camp meeting services commenced at half past 8 iu tho morning. After the usual opening exercises a discourse was preached by the Rev. Mr. Atwood, of Philadelphia, wlieu a short season of prayer was had. The attendance would I number probably two hundred and fifty. In the aftcruoou a social tueettns was hold at the residence of Rev. Mr. Pierce. Iu tho evening tho Rev. Mr. Iuskip preached to au audienco numbering perhaps one thousand persons. The prayers delivered yesterday, we understand, were of au aggressive oharaetcr, partaking more of iho spirit of the church militant than of the meek and lowly Jesus. i . |
