Show A Mountain op Tin. The discovery discov-ery of tin near Ogdcn, reported some time ago in the Ukiiald, is likely to prove the most important discovery yet made in Utah. Samples of the ore forwarded to Washington, D. C., have been assayed by the official as-sayer, as-sayer, some of them yielding seventy-one seventy-one per cent, of tin, and the average, with the gangue, giviDg thirty-seven per cent. The mine, known aa the Star of the West, is bonded to Governor Gover-nor Woods, Messrs. A. S. Gould & Son, and Dr. Graff, for 4101,500; the sum of $1,500 cash having been paid down. As we are given to understand , the discovery might well be called a mountain of tin, for it towers upward apparently a solid mass of ore. The discovery Is in tho Ogden Junction mining district, and about three miles south-east of Ogdcn. |
