Carpenter, ofPoik Co., 'was nominated for Governor, by acclamation; accla-mation; II. C. Bullis for Lieut-Gover-; nor; Anson Abernathy forSuperintend-' forSuperintend-' cnt of Public Institutions; and Judge J. P. Day was renominated Supreme Judge. Resolutions were adopted 1 which congratulate the country on the settlement of the difficulties with England; Eng-land; favor a tariff for revenue only; 1 favor the anneration of San Domingo when the people of the island desire i:; endorse the administration of Grant : and a modification of the revenue system; oppose railroad subsidies, and , favor lecislative control of the railroads in the State and an equal taxation of ' their BP&erty. v |
