Show Mr. RoiiKRT Toombs, the Southern "fire-eater," Iiils been "interviewed," and his interviewer says he is in favor of a renewal of the war. The be.-t way to begin another war would be to plant Mr. Toombs and the rest of his class, in front of a battery and give these belligerent gentlemen a rapid exit from a world wailing for peace. They arc the curse of their race and of every age which finds them on the earth. The Southern people don't want war; they koowwhat it is; but these wordy carpet-warriors carpet-warriors breathe out threateuiogs and slaughter in which they are careful not to engage loo deeply themselves. |
