Show Theatre. "Never Too Late to Mend" was played hero for tho first tiuio last night. The dramatist has not made tho most of the wealth of material which the novel a fiords, but has nevertheless got up a very attractive attrac-tive dramatization preserving the plot of the story and introducing a number of leading incidents and sensational scene.-. The drama was fairly rendered, ren-dered, some of the characters being very well played. In Dunu and Mil-tou Mil-tou thero is a steady improvement manifest in their characterizations, while Thorno and Mardcu aro always careful and play with a consciousness that they aro representing individuals not speaking "pieces." Miss DclHc Clnwson's Josephs was touching aud tho death scene affecting. Miss Adams, Ad-ams, as Susan, was excellent throughout. through-out. Tho play will bo repented to-night with tho farco of "Our Gal" after, Mr. and Carrie Carter playing tho farco. |
