Show By W. U. Tolearapli. PROTESTANT EPISCOPAL ANNIVERSARY. AN-NIVERSARY. New York, 11. At tho anniversary meeting of tho Protestant Episcopal board of missions last evening, I)r. Haight announced that the meeting would also be considered as for the special benefit of tho Indian mission. Rev. Hinman detailed hia fourteen ?cars missionary experience among the )akota Indians, and made a plea for the theory of Christianity as tho best means of civilizing the red man, and asked for money to aid in tho work. The bishop of Oregon spoke of the missionary labors among the Chinese. Addresses were also delivered by bishops Tuttlc, of Montana, and Clark-son, Clark-son, of the Nebraska and Dakota mission. |
