Show New Billlied Rooms. Merara. C. B. Trowbridge Jfc Co. opened their new billiard rooms yesterday, and t largo number of visitors attended during dur-ing the afternoon and evening. 'The rooms are unquestionably tho finest qf the kind between San Francisco and Chicago, and are an ornament to the city, and show what enterprise, a strict attention to business and a "mind-your-own-businoss" policy can accomplish. accom-plish. Mr. Trowbridge has always maintained for his establishment the very highest reputation, and tho new rooms indicate that he was determined to give the patrons of the amusement a palatial place for their CDjoynicnt, as well as one of the best character. Passing through tho open iron gate, and along tho passage leading to the rooms, they arc entered by handsome doors, furnished with heavy plate, ground glass. On entering a magnificent magnifi-cent room is before the visitor, lighted with fourteen windows, and a door at each end half glass, and at night with fifteen handsomo gasaliers, with sixty-two sixty-two lights. The fourteen tables in the rooms are elegantly carpeted underneath, under-neath, and the eslablushmcnt is supplied sup-plied with every requisite for the convenience of patroni. Underneath is a basement, or cellar, ninoty-cight and a hall" feet by twenty-nine, for storing the stock of tho establishment, and there is at present in it sufficient to supply the business for many months to come. We congratulate Mr. Trowbridge, and his partner Mr. West, on tho elegant and in every sense superb establishment they have just opened. Tho structure we have described at length before. |
