Show A Quadrupedal Blondis. At the new Eureka mill, Carson river, says the Virginia city, Nev., Enterprise, Enter-prise, they have a mule that is among animals what Biondin is among men. The level-headed and sure-footed old beast is used on the big flume over 5,000 feet long and in places forty feet high running from the dam to the mill, and marches back and forth over the top of the flume on a plank sixteen inches in width, hauline after him a loaded car. The old fellow is temporarily tempo-rarily doing the work of a locomotive, as before long a small iron horse of" about seven tons weight will be put in his place. The little locomotive will : not only run the length of the flume but will also run up the narrow gauge road to its intersection with tho Virginia Vir-ginia and Truckee road. |
