Show Tub Hihkrnicon. Professor Mac-Evoy's Mac-Evoy's panorama is a very fine painting, and some of the scenes represented are of rare fidelity. Taken altogether, it is the best painting of Irish scenery that we have viewed since Telbin's famous panorama of the Lakes of Kil-Iarncy. Kil-Iarncy. The audience are carried by the representation from New York, over the Atlantic, landed in Dublin, shown some of the street scenes in the capital of Ireland, and a view ot St. Patrick's Cathedral, with a beautiful illuminated scene of the interior, which is well presented and with capital effect. ef-fect. Then the lovely mountains, glens, valleys and coast of Wieklow pass in succession ; which are left for the north and west, including Londonderry London-derry the Maiden City Giant's Causeway, Larne, Carrickfergus, Belfast; Bel-fast; and away to the west, introducing Galwav. . The panorama closes with a couple of beautiful allegorical pictures, representing Ireland as it is, and Ireland Ire-land as it is hoped that it may be. Professor MacEvoy has been suffering from a severe cold, which has interfered inter-fered with the delivery of the descriptive descrip-tive lecture. The singing, dancing and dialogue, by Mr. Byrne, Miss Lester Les-ter and Miss Douglas, though not so good as we have heard and seen, make a great amount of mirth, and prolong the entertainment. To-night ami tomorrow to-morrow night are announced for the closing exhibitions. |
