Show Visitors- A large number of vis-tors vis-tors were in town on Sunday and Monday Mon-day Among others we had the pleasure pleas-ure of meeting Hiram Hadley, Esq. of the firm of Hadley Brothers, 41 Madison' St, Chi .ro; George M. Cooper, Esq., with Harper Brothers, New York; David H. Brown, Esq , of the firm of Thompson, Bigelow Brown, Boston; and Robert F. Lea m-n. Esq , with Wilson, H nkle & Co.. Cincinnati. All the firms are heavy iu the book trade, and their representatives represen-tatives are gentlemen of culture and refinement. We also met R,everend Geo. W Freeman, Free-man, district secretary and general mis binary of the Baptist Home Missionary Mis-sionary Society, his field of labor extending ex-tending from the Missouri river to Omaha, who occupied a chair at the reporters' table in the Tabernacle during dur-ing the celebration on Monday. Along train on Monday afternoon bore away a large number of our visitors; who could not,' in many instances, in-stances, feel otherwise than that many prejudices had been removed aud theii minds disabused of va ious incorrect impressions concerning Salt Lake aud the Mormons. |
