Show Burned A boy belonging to Mr. J. E. Clawson, about eleven years of age, trot burned on Sunday afternoon by firing a train of powder out of a canister given him to keep for the 4th of July. A trench had been made, the powder poured in, and a light put to it ; but as it didn't explode, the boy poured some more on out of the canister, canis-ter, when the whole blew up, setting fire to his clothes and badly burning his face and breast. Powder is not an article to be fooled with by grown-up people, much less children ; and every care should be taken to keep it from the latter. The poor little fellow has his 4:h spoiled ' |
