Show Crushing and Sampling Works. The weekly report of the crushing and sampling works of Messrs. S. W. Howland & Co. for the past week is as follows : Salt Lake City, June 3, 1871. Editors Herald: The business of this week has been mostly the sampling and assaying of small lots, merely to test the different mines, as all the miners seem to think it is best not to ship any ores unless un-less the freights are reduced. We have been busy, however, grinding sandstone and fire clay for the different furnaces in the neighborhood; and we may expect a large amount of bullion to be brought in as soon as the shipments ship-ments will justify. We have received and sampled the following amounts of ore during the From Barstow & Co., Tintic district. 121 sack;, 5,723 lbs; From R. C. Chambers & Co., Tin-tic, Tin-tic, 1S6 sacks, 11,953 lbs; From Montana mine, Tintic, 336 sacks, 17,544 lbs; From Silver Shield, sent to Mr. Hussey, 40 sacks, 2,945 lbs; From Badger State Works of Jones & Robbins, 61 bars, 5,611 lbs. of bullion. bul-lion.
