Show American Fork Mining Disthict. We had a call yesterday morning from Mr. B. F. Snyder, recorder of this district, who left us a fine specimen speci-men of ore from the Sunbeam lode, which shows very rich. The ore at the top assayed $345 in silver to the ton, with forty-seven per cent. lead. A shaft has been sunk four by six feet in width, which is now down eighty feet.and the specimen we have received was taken from the point now reached. It will probably assay from $800 to $1000 to the ton, and parties who have experience in the Mexican mines say it resembles very much the rich gray ores of Mexico. The owners of the Sunbeam have made a contract for sinking the shaft fifty feet deeper, and workmen for that purpose started from this city yesterday. When the intended intend-ed depth is reached w,e wi.l expect information in-formation of the results. -We understand that the owners of the Milier mine, in the same district, have contracted with narties from ("!mI- tfornia for the sale of their ore, not to exceed 100 "tons per day, at $.30 per ton on the dump. The parties are to have a furnace running in sixty days. We learn, that the Wild Dutchman, Dutch-man, another large deposit, was sold lately for $30,000, also to parties from California, who are making arrangements arrange-ments for immediate operations and will soon have a furnace put up. |
