Show Working "up .-. Sensation. The Santa Barbara Press gets off a sensational sensation-al poisoning story on this foundation. A man was cooking some food ill a pan, and during the operation reaches up for a piece of tobacco he had on a shell' which stood above where the pan was. In taking it down he touched a piece o( paper in which there was strychnine for poisoning vermin, and some of it fell in the pan. Soon after he commenced com-menced eating. the bitter taste attracted attrac-ted his attention when he stopped, quickly found out he was poisoned. But as he had eaten little, by the prompt use of remedies he recovered. A dog which eat part of the food died. On this the Press gets off a huge story of mysterious poisoning. The facts stated we have gleaned from other exchanges. ex-changes. They must be hard up for a sensation in Santa Barbara. |
