Show Sanpete Mails. Tho following communication was received on Friday from a gentleman of Mount Pleasant, Sanpete Co. : Mount Pleasant, Sanpete, Nov. 9, 1870. Editors Herald : You will . please ventilate the question why we of Sanpete San-pete a ro subject to the anuoyance of seeing our local mail, which intersects at Nephi, come and no papers; this happening repeatedly. Now, do you firstly put the papers in due form, time and season in the Salt Lake office? If so, as the Sanpete mail is not epen-ed, epen-ed, only at Nephi to put in all letters gathered for i an pete between Salt Lake City and Nephi; it follows, of course, presuming that Mr. W bite delivers the mail iu due .schedule time to T. B. Foot, P. M., of Nephi, that the fault is at Nephi, or the schedule time of the Sanpete mail is too early for the locomotiveness of the aforesaid great Southern mail route; in which case, please ask Col. Wickizer to alter the time, so a3 to promote proper in-" tersection and tho arrivals of the city j sheets so desirable just now. Data. The difficulty complained of wus caused thus: Sanpete has lately received re-ceived a tri-weekly mail from Nephi, but Mr. Moore, Postmaster in this city, who had been sending the sack twice a week as before, was not apprised ap-prised of the change until Tuesday last. Upon receiving the information he made up a sack and dispatched it on v caiiesaay morning; ana me man for Sanpete now goes every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, so that our friends in that county will get their papers by due course of mail. Wo trust Col. Wickizer, when he returns, will be as prompt in dealing with tho Ophir, Cache Co. and Rich Co. matter, as Mr. Moore has been in this; and would also request his attention atten-tion to the necessity of increased mail facilities for West Jordan and Bingham. |
