Intelligence Intelli-gence received from Southeast .Missouri .Mis-souri gives an account of a desperate affray which occurred on Yarner's river on Friday last. Anderson Shep-hard, Shep-hard, an old hunter, sixty-five years of age, was in his boat on the river when he was approached by another boat containing three men, whose names are not given, but between whom and Shcphard an old feud existed. ex-isted. As soon as the boats came within good shooting range, one of the men fired at Shephard and broke his right arm. Shephard seized his rifle, rested it on the side of the boat, and killed his assailant. The two others then commenced firing on him, but he managed with his teeth and left hand to load his rifle, and finally, after receiving re-ceiving seven bullets in hi6 body, succeeded suc-ceeded in killing them both, lie reached the shore, where he was received re-ceived by persons attracted to the spot by the firing, and taken home, where he now lies in a very critical condition. |
