Show A MATTER "AFFECT1SG THE WHOLE WEST. V'o again refer to the ibct that one day in seven the whole west, from the Missouri river to the Paciiic, U need-l.-ssly left without a mail. We suy n,edlcs!y, for i lie facts bear it out. The mails are duly dispatched from the Atlantic seaboard and duly reach Chicago every day. They are dispatched dispatch-ed from Chicago seven times a week, but on Sundays they leave that city in the evening, instead of iu the morning, and consequently fail to make connection connec-tion with the trains of the great overland over-land line ; bo that instead of traveling west at the time they should do, they have to hold over another portion of a day inOmaha, waiting for the next train, and the entire west is thus thrown a day behind in business. This is no small matter affecting the interests of a few ; it affects the entire great west ; and the wonder is that it has not been properly represented aad remedied be-f be-f jre now. We invite the press and the e itire Congressional delegation of the wist, to give the matter attention. The interests of commerce demand it ; and with the removal of the evil a benefit ben-efit of very great importance will be conferred upon the business interests of the entire Pacific slope and the Ilocky Mounta;n region. |
