Artistically it wai a success. The music mu-sic by the Camp Dor.g'.as band was excellent: ex-cellent: Governor Vaughan read "The most efTecLively, Mr. Lindsay's recitations of the "Beautifx Snow'' and the " a-aboncs" were very successful suc-cessful ; Mr. Fabian showed himseif a reader of taste, judgment and elocutionary elocu-tionary powers ; and the c--:.es from "0:he!lo," by Messrs. Milton Nobles and J. S. Lindsay were capitally received. re-ceived. Mr. Fabian, we understand, has secured se-cured the theatre, for a performance on next Thursday night, in aid of this laudable object, when the regular theatrical the-atrical company, and such other talent as can be secured, will appear. |
